Measuring vessel diameters

When evaluating angigraphy datasets, it is often important to get a precise measurement of the relative diameter of vessels. We have developed a tool that can measure this parameter with very high precision.
The movies on the right you see the tool being applkied to two different Phantoms, The user marks the "vessel" that is to be measured and one click later gets a very precise estimate of the vessel diameter, which is much less prone to inter- and intra-observer-differences than the standard method.


The phantom measurements show excellent reproducability: Using the standard method yielded a 12 times higher standard deviation of the individual measurements than the new method.
