Eccet for Windows
Eccet is developed exclusively for Linux for various reasons.
However it is easily possible to run Eccet on a Windows PC using the
vmWare
virtualization suite.
Due to special properties of Eccet, the speed penalty is relatively small.However you will need extra main memory, as Windows will be executing in parallel to Eccet. It is recommended to add about 512MB of main memory as compared to running Eccet on Unix (typical recommended RAM size is 4GB).
vmWare Player
In case you do not have the free vmWare Player installed, the installer will prompt you to download and install it.Download des Installers
Download the current Eccet-Installer
and open it.
Attention: If you are using Windows Vista it may well take several minutes(!) from selecting to open the installer to the installer dialogs coming up.
